Egyptian teen life

Hello my lovely readers, so as you can tell by the title, this post is quite different from my normal blog posts. If you didn't already know, I'm Egyptian and I'm proud of it, but sometimes people assume that teens in Egypt are different from teens from the rest of the world, but we aren't we are just as normal as it gets. But there is though some minor differences.

So in this post I'm going to explain some of the few differences between us and the rest of the world.

1 Highschool in Egypt is called secondary school and it's only three years.

2 The third year of secondary school is the most stressful so we study so hard during this year to get      a high score to enter college.

3 The high scores are usually required to enter the faculty of engineering/ medicine/ pharmacy/        dentistry, which are the colleges that every parent wish their kid could enter which explains the  stressful part.

4 Colleges are for free for anyone, and after the results come out, there is a sort of a score limit for    each college, so if your results aren't enough, you either enter a private college which you pay money  for or you see what can your score get you in for free.

5 There is no prom, but there is a graduation party.

6 There isn't any parties, but we go out alot and we usually have birthday parties.

7 Some teens do drugs and get drunk but they are discreet about it.

8 We date but nothing physical happens and it's also discreet as well, parents usually don't know.

9 We are up to date with technology, we don't live in the stone age like some people think.

10 A large number is fluent in English and French like myself.

11 Our weekend is on friday and saturday, but I go to a christian catholic school so my weekend is on      sunday and friday.

12 We have events, like colour festivals and entertainment days instead of parties.

I hope you enjoyed this post and learned new info, Don't forget to share it and comment your opinion till next time. XoXo
